Rainbow Six Mobile has been released globally
Despite a recent major restructuring and the cancellation of several internal projects, Ubisoft has finally released the long-awaited mobile shooter Rainbow Six Mobile. The game became available for download on the evening of February 23.
The portable version is an adaptation of the iconic tactical shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege for smartphones and tablets. The developers have strived to preserve the key mechanics of the original, including environmental destructibility and teamwork, while adapting controls for touchscreens. The free-to-play distribution model is intended to attract the widest possible audience.
The release also launched the first season, titled Sand Wraith, which offers players three-on-three battles. Ubisoft has high hopes for this project, given the immense popularity of Siege on desktop platforms.
The title was announced back in 2022, and two beta tests took place in 2023, allowing the developers to gather feedback and polish the gameplay.
