An insider has announced the release date for Starfield on PlayStation 5.

Reputable insider billbil-kun from Dealabs has revealed details of the long-awaited release of the space RPG Starfield on the PlayStation 5 console. According to sources, the Bethesda Game Studios project will be released on April 7th, and will be available not only digitally but also on physical media from the very beginning.

Buyers will be offered a choice of two editions. The standard version will cost €49.99 or £44.99, while the Premium Edition will cost €69.99 or £59.99, respectively. Notably, the PS5 price is significantly lower than the game's launch price on other platforms, which may come as a pleasant surprise to those new to the title. Owners of the Premium Edition will not receive early access; the game will be available to everyone at the same time.

An insider has announced the release date for Starfield on PlayStation 5.

According to an insider, pre-orders will begin in mid-March—tentatively the evening of the 17th or 18th, depending on the region. Previously, Polish retailers and journalists from reputable gaming portals reported Starfield's PS5 release in early April, so the information appears to be consistent.

There has been no official announcement from Bethesda yet, but given billbil-kun's track record of regularly and accurately publishing information about PlayStation Plus and other game releases, there's little doubt the leak's veracity. As a reminder, the original Starfield released in September 2023 on PC and Xbox, receiving mixed reviews from the press and players. The Shattered Space expansion was released in 2024, but interest in the project hasn't fully recovered—average daily online viewership on Steam has long hovered around two to five thousand. Perhaps the release on a new platform and the accompanying update will breathe new life into the game.
