Gamers are outraged: DICE made paid skins in Battlefield 6 free a week after release

DICE studio has once again found itself at the center of controversy, this time over the bizarre pricing policy in Battlefield 6. The developers recently partnered with clothing brand 5.11 and released themed outfit sets. However, the method of obtaining them has caused an uproar even among the most patient fans of the series.

Gamers are outraged: DICE made paid skins in Battlefield 6 free a week after release

One of the outfits could only be obtained by purchasing at least fifty dollars worth of items in the 5.11 store. Three others were sold as separate paid bundles in-game for sixteen euros. Players, though grumbling, still shelled out the cash, eager to get their hands on the exclusive skins. Imagine their surprise when, just a week later, DICE suddenly announced that all four outfits could now be unlocked completely free simply by completing in-game missions.

Meanwhile, the developers didn't even think to remove the paid bundle from the storefront, leaving it there as if nothing had happened. This decision enraged gamers. The community called it a slap in the face for those who honestly paid money, especially considering that some spent not only on the in-game pack but also on real-world clothing to obtain the virtual skin.

It's worth noting that Battlefield 6, which launched to great acclaim, has been rapidly losing its audience in recent months. Players complain about a lack of quality content and strange monetization decisions.
