Valve has changed its mind about Classic Offensive, a fan modification that recreates Counter-Strike 1.6 on the CS:GO engine. Initially, the project was blocked, but after some time, the mod's developers reported that the studio had contacted them.
According to the authors, Valve pointed out that the project did not comply with Steam rules. Now the team is working on an updated version that will meet all the requirements.

This means that fans of the classic CS 1.6 will still be able to play the updated version of the cult shooter on a modern engine.
