CS:Legacy is an unofficial remake of Counter-Strike 1.6 from fans, created from scratch on the Source engine. The authors emphasize that all assets, code, rendering system and shaders have been redesigned from scratch, which will provide a modern visual performance, while preserving the atmosphere of the original.
The release of the project in early access is expected before the end of 2024, but the exact dates are still unknown. It should be noted that CS:Legacy is in no way connected with another remake - Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive, also inspired by version 1.6, but implemented on the basis of CS:GO. Despite the similarity of the concept, both projects have a unique style and gameplay features.
